Are Neuromodulators like BOTOX, DYSPORT & Nuceiva Safe?
Neuromodulators, such as BOTOX®, have been licensed in Canada since 1990 as a safe and effective treatment for various medical conditions. In 2001, Health Canada approved their use for cosmetic purposes. With an estimated 17 million treatments performed in North America and a 97% satisfaction rate among users, these treatments are among the most widely researched and trusted in the world.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Common side effects include mild discomfort, temporary bruising, and transient headaches. Rare and unexpected side effects may include infection at the injection site, temporary eyelid or eyebrow drooping (occurring in about 3% of injections), and allergic reactions.
How Soon Will I See a Difference? How Long Does a Treatment Last?

Can Everyone Use DYSPORT® or BOTOX®?

However, those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neuromuscular disorder such as Myasthenia Gravis, Lambert-Eaton Syndrome, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease) should avoid these treatments. Additionally, if you are currently taking or are likely to be taking IV antibiotics soon, your treatments should be postponed.
